Congratulations! You've reached an important milestone!
Now you can breathe a sigh of relief.!
Once the attorney gives clearance to proceed with closing, Elke will contact them to arrange a suitable time. In case you're out of state, alternative arrangements can be made, such as mailing the closing documents for your signature. However, it is highly recommended that buyers attend the settlement in person.
Approximately an hour before the closing, you and Elke will conduct a walk-through of the property. The purpose is to verify that any agreed-upon repairs between you and the seller have been completed. You will also check and make sure that everything is working properly as it was at the home inspection. You'll also check the HVAC, water heater, appliances, condition of the home, etc. to ensure that everythig is in proper working order as it was during the home inspection. This is your final opportunity to identify any discrepancies or issues.
Following the walk-through, you and Elke will proceed to the closing attorney's office. The attorney will review the lender documents, deed, title, and other necessary paperwork with you. Once all parties have signed the deed, it will be recorded at the courthouse. And just like that, you become proud homeowners! Congratulations on this significant achievement.
Please note that the above information is a condensed summary and does not encompass all the details. Make sure to obtain a copy of "Your Buyer's Guide" from Elke for a comprehensive understanding. Throughout the closing process, maintain close communication with your agent, Elke, as well as the attorney, lender, and insurance agent to ensure a smooth and successful closing on your new home.
